DEKALB, Illinois – The Louisiana men's basketball team takes a break from conference play as they face Northern Illinois in round 2 of the MAC-SBC Challenge on Saturday in DeKalb, Illinois.

The Cajun offense broke out on Wednesday at Georgia Southern, going 10-for-22 from three and 24-of-25 from the free throw line. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil and Kentrell Garnett combined for 41 points but it wasn't enough as the Cajuns fell 83-82.

Their win in that span was a 76-66 victory over Ball State at home. They are led offensively by Cal Poly transfer Quentin Jones. The sophomore leads the team at 16.4 points per game while grabbing 4.2 rebounds. The sophomore has scored in double figures in all but three games this season.
