Louisiana looks to finish with a .500 record in SBC play

MOBILE, Alabama – The end of the regular season is here as the Louisiana men's basketball team heads to the Mitchell Center to face South Alabama in Mobile. With a win and some help, the Ragin' Cajuns can move up to the number seven seed in next week's Sun Belt Conference Championships in Pensacola, Florida.

The Cajuns enter the final day of the regular season tied with Texas State and Georgia State for seventh in the league. Since both teams hold the tiebreaker, the Cajuns would need to beat them outright to leapfrog them in the standings. Currently the nine-seed, Louisiana is scheduled to play on Wednesday against the winner of the first game on Tuesday. With a loss and wins by Georgia Southern and Old Dominion, the Cajuns would fall to the 11 spot and play on Tuesday.

South Alabama can still clinch a share of the SBC regular season title on Friday. The 12-5 Jaguars sit a game back of James Madison for the number-one seed in next week's tournament. As it stands, South Alabama enters the final day in a three-way tie with Arkansas State and Troy with the Jags holding the three-seed in the tournament.
