Louisiana Hosts Marshall on Senior Day

The Cajuns will honor five seniors prior to tip-off
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana men's basketball team welcomes Marshall to the Cajundome for Senior Day on Saturday. Before the game, the Cajuns will recognize their five seniors, Zeke Cook, Kyndall Davis, Kentrell Garnett, Michael Thomas, and Christian Wright.
The Cajuns look to get back on track after dropping their last three Sun Belt Conference games. Last time out, Louisiana fell to Troy, 74-56, on Wednesday. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil led the way with 19 points while Jeremiah Evans added 10 to the effort.
Marshall comes in after an overtime loss at South Alabama, 91-82. The Thundering Herd is led offensively by Obinna Anochili-Killen's 13.7 points per game. Anochili-Killen is also one of the nation's best shot blockers, coming into the weekend fourth in the country with 68.

• Louisiana welcomes Marshall to the Cajundome for just the second time since 1996. The Cajuns hosted the Thundering Herd in 2023, a 77-67 victory.

• Kentrell Garnett became the 52nd player in program history to reach the 1,000-point scoring mark against Georgia Southern. Garnett has had a season filled with milestones already. This season he has broken the program record for games played and has cracked the school's top-five list for career three-pointers. Louisiana is the 44th program in NCAA Division I to have 52+ 1,000-point scorers.
• Mostapha El Moutaouakkil continues to produce in SBC play. The junior is scoring (16.3) and rebounding (6.7) in SBC games. He is 53rd in the country in free throw makes (112) and 64th in attempts (143).
• Louisiana is second in the league in free throw shooting at .741 percent for the season.
