Louisiana Goes for SBC Win Number Six Against South Alabama

The Ragin’ Cajuns have won five in a row over the Jaguars

LAFAYETTE – Coming off a gritty win over Texas State on Thursday, the Louisiana men's basketball team looks for their sixth Sun Belt Conference win of the year as they host South Alabama on Saturday in the Cajundome.

Kentrell Garnett led the Cajuns with 15 points on Thursday and is just 13 away from 1,000 for his career. The senior also tied Randall Daigle with 227 career made threes, the fourth most in program history. The bench stepped up in a big way, scoring 30 or more points for the fifth time in seven games.

Chancellor White led the second unit with a career-high 14-point performance, hitting four from long range. London Fields hit a pair of threes in the second half to finish with six points while Kyran Ratliff also had six off the bench. Kyndall Davis added a team-high six boards with five points and three assists in the win.

South Alabama has lost three in a row after starting conference play 6-1. The Jags, playing their fourth game of the week, beat Troy by one on January 18 before falling to the Trojans a week later and losing back-to-back games earlier this week to ULM.
