Louisiana looks to start 3-0 in SBC play for the first time since 2021-22

ATLANTA, GA. – The Louisiana men's basketball team looks to stay undefeated in Sun Belt Conference play as they head to Atlanta to take on Georgia State on Saturday.

The Cajuns moved to 2-0 in conference action in thrilling action in Thursday's 71-68 win over Coastal Carolina. Trailing by as many as 13 in the second half, the Cajuns closed on a 10-1 run to stun the Chanticleers. Mostapha El Moutaouakkil had a huge night with 21 points, a season-high, seven rebounds, and six steals. Michael Thomas added 16 points off the bench, one shy of a career-high for the senior. It was the first win for Louisiana under interim head coach Derrick Zimmerman in his second game in the position.

Georgia State looks to snap a seven-game losing streak on Saturday. The Panthers look for their first victory since a 74-71 win over Tulsa on November 27. They are 0-2 so far in conference with losses to Troy and South Alabama, two of the four unbeaten teams in the league.
