Louisiana part of 11-team field; will play 36 holes on Monday
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Golf team embarks on its second trip of the 2024-25 season when it opens play on Monday at the Git-R-Done Invitational, hosted by the University of Nebraska, at Firethorn Golf Club.

Action for the two-day, 54-hole event begins on Monday with a 36-hole start beginning at holes 1 and 10 at 8 a.m. The final round will begin on Tuesday at 8 a.m. Live results for the event will be available at Scoreboard.clippd.com.

Louisiana will be part of an 11-team field in the third edition of the tournament, made possible by the support of Dan Whitney (aka Larry the Cable Guy). Joining the Ragin' Cajuns in the field will be host Nebraska, Sun Belt Conference member South Alabama, Creighton, Kansas City, Minnesota, Omaha, Sam Houston, South Dakota State, Wichita State and Xavier.

The teams will take on a challenging 7,003-yard, par-71 layout at Firethorn, which is a prairie-style course featuring a Pete Dye design.

Louisiana opened play earlier this month with a fifth-place showing at Louisiana Tech's Argent Financial Classic. Malan Potgieter fired a 3-under-par 69 in the final round to earn his sixth career top-10 finish as Louisiana concluded the 54-hole event at 8-over 872 and two strokes behind Rice and Little Rock.

Potgeiter will lead Louisiana's five-man lineup in the event with Eli Ortego occupying the No. 2 slot in the lineup. Jean Louis du Plessis will compete in his second overall tournament for Louisiana after playing individually in the season-opener while Matthew Lotz and Carter Schmitt will each make their 2024-25 debuts for the Ragin' Cajuns.
