Louisiana Welcomes Middle Tennessee for Mid-Week Tilt

The Ragin’ Cajuns look to beat the Blue Raiders for the first time since 2002
LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana soccer team looks to continue their strong start on Thursday against Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m. at the Home Bank Soccer & Track Complex.
Last week the Cajuns opened the season going 1-0-1, with a win over McNeese before playing to a draw against Louisiana Tech in the team's home opener on Sunday. They outshot the opposition 42-13 and dominated in shots on goal 21-4.
"It's been a whole team effort," said Tatum Beck. "I don't think we'd be able to get shots off without the defensive aspect. It started this spring, before our preseason, we've been grinding hard since the spring."
The match marks the second of five in a row at home for Louisiana. Playing so many in a row at home allows the team to get rolling without the added wear and tear of traveling early in the season.
"It's such an advantage," said Lily Parker. "Compared to last year when the team was on the road a lot and it was a lot of back-and-forth. Being home like this allows us to sleep in our beds, get the right sleep, and stay in our routines."
Despite not scoring on Sunday, the Cajuns had plenty of opportunities to convert. The team landed 10 shots on goal and allowed none by coming out of the gates with high energy and ready to play.
"We need to keep composed and play our game," said Beck. "If we stick to our gameplan and play our game, we'll see us go out and do really well."
