The Cajuns return home for the first of three matches at Cajun Courts
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana - The Louisiana men's tennis team is back in Acadiana for the first time since March 9. The Cajuns are undefeated at home this season at 5-0.
Last weekend the Cajuns split a pair of road matches, falling at nationally ranked Old Dominion before defeating James Madison, 5-2. Louisiana has had strong singles play of late. Oriol Fillat Gimenez has won six in a row while freshman Leonard Tramolay is riding a four-match winning streak.
Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez and Vasil Dimitrov lead the Cajuns in wins with nine in singles. Both are up to 16 total on the year with seven in doubles. Sanchez Gonzalez has done all his damage on court one this spring with partner Sacha Grandvincent. Dimitrov has all seven wins on court two, playing primarily with Tramolay.
Southern Miss is 7-6 on the year and alternated wins and losses over their last eight matches, losing the last time out to Old Dominion. The Golden Eagles are led in singles by Henry Lamchinniah and Olimjon Nabiev with seven wins each. In doubles, Lamchinniah and partner Dakota Bobo lead them with a 5-4 record.
