Louisiana Opens Outdoor Season in Lake Charles

The Ragin’ Cajuns look to build off a historic 2023 outdoor season
LAKE CHARLES, Louisiana - The Tommy Badon era officially begins as the Louisiana track and field team travels to Lake Charles, Louisiana for the McNeese Cowboy Invitational.
The Ragin' Cajuns are coming off a strong showing at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships in which the men finished third overall while Tyren Hannah claimed the men's weight throw championship and Kennedy London won the women's 60-meter hurdles championship. Louisiana aims to get ready for next week's Louisiana Classics in Lafayette.
The day begins at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw while track events begin at noon with the women's 4x200-meter relay.
Louisiana is one of 10 schools scheduled to participate which includes host McNeese, Alcorn State, Centenary, Northwestern State, Prairie View, St. Thomas (Texas), Texas Southern, Wiley University, and Xavier (La.).
