Louisiana Opens Spring Schedule With Saturday Twinbill

Ragin' Cajuns host LSU-E, Mississippi Gulf Coast in pair of friendlies
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team opens its 2024 spring schedule on Saturday hosting LSU-Eunice and Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in a pair of exhibition matches at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.

Kickoff will start at 11 a.m. with Louisiana facing LSU-E before closing out the day with a 3 p.m. contest against MGCCC. LSU-E and MGCCC will square off in a 1 p.m. Admission to all Louisiana home soccer matches is free.

Louisiana will get its first of seven opportunities during the spring after posting a 7-9-2 record during the 2023 season and reaching the Sun Belt Conference championships for the first time in two seasons.

The Ragin' Cajuns return their top five scorers from last season's team, paced by forward Megan Bradley along with midfielder Sisley Stephens and defender Hailly Waterhouse. Midfielder Emma Bates and forward Briana Henry finished tied for fourth in scoring last season for Louisiana with the duo each scoring two goals with an assist.

Goalkeeper Makenna Garcia led Louisiana with a 1.52 goals against average and 65 saves with Natalie Mayes posting a 1.62 GAA with 35 saves in five starts.

The Ragin' Cajuns will travel to face LSU (March 8) and Houston Christian (March 23) during the spring schedule before hosting Southern (April 7) and an April 13 doubleheader against LSU-Alexandria and Xavier of New Orleans.
