The home side has won each of the last five in the series
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana men's basketball team welcomes in-state rival Louisiana Tech to the Cajundome for the 136th meeting between the schools.
Kyran Ratliff has emerged as a scorer for the Cajuns over the last five games. The sophomore has recorded a new career high in three straight games and four of the last five. Last Saturday, Ratliff went off for 25 points and 13 rebounds for his first collegiate double-double, including 16 points in the second half.
Despite Ratliff's efforts, the Cajuns fell in a heartbreaker to Nicholls, 76-75, on Saturday. Christian Wright hit a pair of free throws with 13 seconds left to give Louisiana the lead, but the Colonels got to the free throw line on the other end to sink a pair and steal the win.
The Bulldogs started the season 7-0 but have lost their last two games, losing at home to Southern before a defeat at No. 16 Memphis on Wednesday. They are led by CUSA Preseason Player of the Year Daniel Batcho who is averaging 19.2 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Running the show for them is point guard Sean Newman Jr. who is second in the country in assists at 9.0 per game.
