Louisiana opens a six-game homestand against Arkansas State
LAFAYETTE, Louisiana – After a long road trip the Louisiana men's basketball team is back in the Cajundome to take on Arkansas State in the first game of a six-game homestand. The Cajuns finished the road trip 3-1, including an 84-77 victory over the Red Wolves on January 13.
The Cajuns ended the road trip with an 88-79 win at South Alabama. Kobe Julien had a big afternoon with 24 points and eight rebounds. Joe Charles had a huge second half, scoring 21 of his 22 points, with nine rebounds. Hosana Kitenge recorded his first double-double as a Cajun with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
The Red Wolves split their two road contests last week, falling at Southern Miss, 69-66, before beating Texas State, 79-72. They're led offensively by Dyondre Dominguez's 13.3 points per game while right behind him is Caleb Fields at 12.3 points per game. Dominguez also leads the team in rebounding at 8.4 per game. They have been on a tear from deep of late, making at least eight threes and shooting over 30 percent in seven of their last eight games. During that stretch, the only team to contain them is Louisiana who allowed the Red Wolves to shoot just 4-for-22 (.182) from three-point range.
