Louisiana Heads North To Face Grambling In Soccer

Cajuns open four-match road trip with visit to 2-1-0 Tigers
LAFAYETTE – After a convincing win in its home opener last Sunday, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team ventures out on the road for the next two weekends, beginning on Thursday in a non-conference matchup against Grambling at the GSU Soccer Complex.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. Live stats will be available at RaginCajuns.com.
Louisiana (1-0-1) notched a dominant 2-0 win over South Florida in its home opener last Sunday behind goals from Emma Bates and Megan Bradley. Newcomer Makenna Garcia stopped three shots in notching her first career shutout while freshman Mary Mueth set up Bradley's insurance goal with an assist.
Bates, Bradley and Sisley Stephens have each scored goals for Louisiana in its opening two matches.
Grambling (2-1-0), coming off a 1-0 win at East Texas Baptist on Tuesday, plays its home opener after earning a shutout victory at Murray State before falling at Southeast Missouri, 4-1.
Four players have scored goals for GSU with Samantha Diaz and Sophia Lezizidis each leading the team with three points.
