Cajuns Prepped for NCAA East Regionals

Louisiana has 21 student-athletes competing in the four-day event
JACKSONVILLE, FL. – After a terrific showing at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Louisiana track and field team is poised to make noise at the NCAA East Regionals in Jacksonville, Florida. 21 student-athletes will represent the Cajuns as they look to punch their ticket to the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas.
The week begins on Wednesday with Loubert Dagrin in the men's 110-meter hurdles. He'll be followed later in the evening by Trejun Jones in the 100-meter dash and SBC Champion Javed Jones and Nathan Fergusson in the 400-meter dash with the top 24 in all those events advancing.
The action continues on Thursday with a trio of Cajuns competing in the women's javelin. Maria Bienvenu, the SBC Champion, leads the way along with Emma Bacilla and Marin Barras in Jacksonville. Kennedy London starts the evening portion in the 100-meter hurdles after finishing second in the SBC. The day continues with Jacqueline Pokuaah in the long jump before Moseisha Bridgen, 400-meter, and Sophie Daigle, 10k, close the day.
The men's 4x100 relay team competes on Friday, the final day of the men's competition. SBC Champion Jeremy Nelson follows in the triple jump as one of just two freshmen in the event. The night ends with the Cajuns competing in the 4x400 relay, with the quarterfinals beginning at 7:45 p.m. CT.
Saturday, the final day of competition, opens with Taylor Davis in the women's high jump. Later in the day Davis and Pokuaah are scheduled to participate in the triple jump. Action closes both Friday and Saturday with the finals of the track events.
