Ragin’ Cajuns Head to Hattiesburg for SBC Contest

Louisiana closes the season on a three-match road trip
HATTIESBURG, MS - The Louisiana men's tennis team hits the road for the first of their final three matches of the regular season. This Saturday, April 8, they'll take on Southern Miss at 2 p.m. in Hattiesburg, Mississippi looking to keep pace at the top of the Sun Belt Conference. The Cajuns enter the week as one of four teams fighting for the regular season title.
The Cajuns finished their home schedule over the weekend, splitting with James Madison and Old Dominion. Karlo Kajin had the clinching point in Saturday's win over the Dukes in three sets, earning the 82nd win of his Cajun career. On Sunday, Alejo Ferrer Chueca cruised to a two-set win while only dropping two games.
Kajin leads Louisiana with 12 singles victories. Calin Postea is playing well of late, winning his last three contests to improve to 8-6 on the year. Kajin is also tied for the team lead, along with Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez, with nine doubles victories. Vasil Dimitrov and Kacper Dworak are right behind them with eight wins each.
The Golden Eagles have struggled of late, losing seven in a row and are winless in SBC play. Olimjon Nabiev has a team-leading eight singles wins while Antoine Audrain is the only player with a record over .500 this season. The team has played better in doubles, particularly on court two where they have an 8-5 record. .
