Louisiana Hosts Alcorn in Return to Cajun Courts

Ragin’ Cajuns look to rebound as homestand begins Friday with 1 p.m. contest
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Tennis team returns to Cajun Courts on Friday, March 20, hosting Alcorn in a 1:00 p.m. match to begin a brief two-match homestand.
Louisiana (6-6) enters the contest looking to rebound after a pair of road setbacks earlier in the week in San Antonio against Incarnate Word and UTSA.
Louisiana makes its first appearance at Cajun Courts since March 1, when the Ragin' Cajuns defeated Norfolk State, 6-1. In that outing, UL claimed the doubles point then came out on top after multiple singles matches stretched into decisive third sets.

Several Cajuns have produced strong results in singles play this season, including Nikola Kolyachev (5-2), Samuel Kyjaci (6-5) and Darius Balan (6-6). Louisiana has excelled on the back end of singles, Balan headlining a 7-5 mark on Court 5 with his 4-2 record while Gianluca Filoramo's five wins and an additional three from Kolyachev spark the team's 9-3 mark on Court 6.
In doubles action, the tandem of Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay has emerged as a key pairing, recording seven victories as the sole competitors on Court 1.
Friday's matchup begins a two-match stretch at Cajun Courts for Louisiana. The Ragin' Cajuns will return home again on Thursday, March 26, to host Nicholls in a 10:00 a.m. contest.
Louisiana and Alcorn meet for the first time since a March 21, 2021 doubleheader at Cajun Courts. The Ragin' Cajuns hold a 19-0 record against the Braves in a series that dates back to 2006.
