Ferrer Chueca Continues Hot Play with Fourth SBC Win

HATTIESBURG, MS - Alejo Ferrer Chueca has been playing well of late for the Louisiana men's tennis team and Sunday was no different at Southern Miss. The junior improved his record to 4-2 in Sun Belt Conference play while earning his fourth win on court two as well this spring.
The doubles point started with a split on courts one and two, with the duo of Kacper Dworak and Alejo Ferrer Chueca pulling off a 6-4 victory. The Cajuns couldn't secure the doubles point as the Golden Eagles squeaked it out on court three, 7-5.
Ferrer Chueca had to win his first set in a tiebreaker but cruised in the second, 6-1, for the point for Louisiana. Kajin had a battle on court one but fell 6-4, 7-6 in a second set tiebreaker. On court five, Kacper Dworak went a third set but couldn't pull it out, falling 4-6, 6-3, 9-11. The Cajuns, playing a day later than originally planned due to inclement weather, couldn't spoil senior day for the Golden Eagles and fell 6-1.

One weekend remains in the regular season for the Cajuns and it'll be spent in Georgia. They'll open the final weekend at Georgia State on Saturday with a 9 a.m. CT first serve before heading to Georgia Southern on Sunday.
