Louisiana Heads to Starkville for Final Pre-Conference Tune-Up

STARKVILLE, MS – Just one meet remains for the Louisiana track and field team before heading to the Sun Belt Conference Championships in May. This weekend they'll head to Starkville, Mississippi for the Maroon and White Invite hosted by Mississippi State as one of 12 teams competing.
The Cajuns continued their assault at the record books last weekend in Baton Rouge, posting seven new top-10 scores. Jordan Brown moved into third all-time in the women's pole vault with a jump of 3.84 meters. Moe Bridgen (58.05) and Ta'La Spates (59.43) moved into second and third respectively in the women's 400 hurdles. Sophie Daigle had the lone event win on the day in the women's 1,500 with a time of 4:30.61, her second lowest time of the season.
Competing alongside the Cajus this Friday and Saturday are; Alcorn State, Arkansas State, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, Marion Military Institute, Meridian CC, host Mississippi State, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UAB, and ULM.
Action on Friday begins at 9:30 a.m. while Saturday starts at 11 a.m. from the Mike Sanders Track Complex.
