Louisiana Wins Three Events on Final Day in Texas

The Ragin’ Cajuns took three golds and set two top-10 times at the Bobcat Invitational
SAN MARCOS, Tx. – The Louisiana track and field team ended their Texas trip with a bang, winning three events and challenging some program records on the final day of the Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Texas.
The day started with the 4x100 relays, dominated by the Cajuns. The women's team of Kennedy London, Moseisha Bridgen, Mari Robinson and Ta'La Spates placed second with a time of 45.50. Not to be outdone, Kashie Crockett, Trejun Jones, Chris Gravois and Jamhad Booth won the men's event with a time of 39.78.
The hurdle events were also dominated by the Cajuns, claiming a pair of victories. Kennedy London continued her stellar spring with a win in the women's 100 meter hurdles, finishing in 13.61 seconds. In the men's 110 meter hurdles, Loubert Dagrin took home the gold with a time of 13.92. His time was the fifth lowest in school history in the event. In the women's race Kayla Meyers placed 25th with a time of 14.50 while in the men's event Kai Hensley crossed the line in 19th in 14.62 seconds and Timothy Cola was 33rd in 14.89 seconds.
Ta'La Spates came up just shy of her own program record in the women's 400 meter. She finished in 54.93 seconds for the second fastest time in school history, for the race she was 13th. Behind her was teammate Alexandra Johnson in 31st in 56.51 seconds.
In the men's 800 meter Jacob Meek placed seventh with a time of 1:55.94 to round out the team's track competitions. In field events the Cajuns were represented by a trio in the women's triple jump. Taylor Davis led the way with a distance of 12.40 meters in eighth place. Behind her was Jacqueline Pokuaah in 14th with a jump of 12.21 meters and Ariel Young's jump of 11.57 meters was good enough to place 24th.
The Cajuns did not compete in any events on the final day of the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin.
