Soccer Hosts HCU In Second Spring Friendly

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team competes for the second time during the spring on Saturday when it plays host to Houston Christian University at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Complex.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Admission to all home soccer matches is free and concessions will be provided.
Louisiana opened its spring season on Feb. 24 with a 5-0 win over LSU-Eunice. Five different players scored for the Ragin' Cajuns with Karleen Bedre and Megan Bradley scoring in the first half with Tatum Beck, Mariella Stephens and Alyssa Abbott each posting goals in the final 45 minutes.
Sisley Stephens added a pair of assists as eight players contributed in the scoring column for Louisiana, which was playing its first of five spring matches. Goalkeeper Makenna Garcia, making her Louisiana debut, posted the shutout against LSUE.
The match for Louisiana is the second of four spring matches at home which includes contests against Northwestern State (March 10) and LSU (March 25). The Ragin' Cajuns will close out the spring schedule on April 1 at Mississippi State.
