Louisiana Blanks LSUE In Spring Soccer, 5-0

LAFAYETTE – Louisiana's Karleen Bedre and Megan Bradley scored a pair of first-half goals while Tatum Beck, Mariella Stephens and Alyssa Abbott each found the back of the net in the second half of a 5-0 win over LSU Eunice in the Ragin' Cajuns Spring Soccer opener at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Facility.

Sisley Stephens added a pair of assists as eight different players contributed in the scoring column for Louisiana, which was playing its first of five spring matches.

Bedre started the scoring for the Ragin' Cajuns in the first half with a goal on a penalty kick before Bradley scored off a free kick from Stephens.

Beck gave Louisiana a 3-0 lead in the second half after collecting a pass from Stephens before Mariella Stephens (goal) and Liberty Plasek (assist) teamed up on the Ragin' Cajuns fourth goal of the match.

The Ragin' Cajuns closed out the scoring when Abbott scored off an assist from Alex Folchert for her first goal of the spring.

Louisiana will return to action with its second spring friendly on Saturday, March 4 when it hosts Houston Christian in a 1 p.m. contest. Admission to all Ragin' Cajuns home matches is free and concessions will be provided.
