Ragin' Cajuns Travel To Face Troy In SBC Soccer

Louisiana looks to move closer to SBC postseason in road finale

TROY, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team looks to continue its momentum of reaching the Sun Belt Conference postseason for the first time in two years when it travels to face Troy on Sunday at the Troy Soccer Complex.
 
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available at CajunStats.com.
 
Louisiana (6-7-2, 3-5-0 SBC) moved into a tie for 10th place in the league standings with a come-from-behind 3-1 win over Arkansas State on Thursday. The Ragin' Cajuns, with nine points (3 points for a SBC win) in league matches this season claimed the tie-breaker and No. 10 seed over the Red Wolves by virtue of the win.
 
The top 10 teams in the SBC regular-season standings will advance to the SBC Championships, scheduled for Oct. 30-Nov. 5 in Foley, Ala.
 
Emma Bates, Megan Bradley and Karleen Bedre each scored goals in the win for Louisiana with Natalie Mayes – in her second career start in goal – stopping four shots and keeping A-State off the board in the final 86 minutes of the match.
 
Bradley (4 goals, 9 points) leads Louisiana in scoring during the 2023 season with Bates, Sisley Stephens and Briana Henry following with five points each (2 goals, 1 assist). Alyssa Abbott, Mariella Stephens and Mary Mueth each lead the team with two assists while Lauren Bennett (1,272 minutes), Hailly Waterhouse (1,124) and Mariella Stephens (1,009) are the top players in minutes played.
 
The meeting with Troy (5-9-2, 0-6-2 SBC) is the 20th on the pitch between the schools with the Trojans holding an 11-7-1 lead. Louisiana has won the last three meetings, including a 3-1 victory in last year's match in Lafayette.
