Louisiana Hosts Arkansas State In "BlackOut" Match

"Pups At The Pitch," LA Krewe Rush Night as Cajuns meet A-State for 27th time

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team renews its oldest rivalry on Thursday when it entertains Sun Belt Conference opponent Arkansas State in a "BlackOut Match" at the Home Bank Soccer and Track Complex.
 
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission to all Ragin' Cajuns home soccer matches is free. The match will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available at CajunStats.com.
 
Pre-match events will begin with a "Tailgate Party" from 5-6:30 p.m. with the match designated as LA Krewe Rush Night. Fans can also bring their "Pups At The Pitch" as Louisiana (5-7-2, 2-5-0 SBC) and A-State (4-5-4, 2-2-3 SBC) meet for the 27th time.
 
With three regular-season matches remaining, Louisiana currently sits one point out of 10th place in the SBC standings with the top 10 advancing to the SBC Championships, scheduled to begin on Oct. 30.
 
The Ragin' Cajuns, who will close out the regular-season with matches at Troy (Oct. 22) and at home against Marshall (Oct. 26), have seen underclassmen score 12 of their 14 goals on the season.
 
Megan Bradley (3), Sisley Stephens (2) and Briana Henry (2) have been the top goal scorers for Louisiana in 2023.
 
A-State is led by Aliyah Williamson with three goals scored on the season with Olivia Luther sporting a 1.21 goals against average with 43 saves.
 
The meeting between the schools will be the 27th on the pitch dating back to 2000. A-State (26), South Alabama (26), Little Rock (24) and ULM (23) have been the most common opponents for Louisiana in school history.
