Louisiana Runs at Arturo Barrios Invite

It was the first action for the Ragin’ Cajuns since September 15
COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Louden Boudreaux and Isabelle Russell led the way for the Louisiana cross country team at the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Friday, October 13 in College Station, Texas.

Competing against a loaded field with nearly 40 schools, Boudreaux was the fastest finisher for the men with a time of 24:59.5 in 146th place. Not far behind him was teammate Peyton Chiasson in 186th with a time of 25:17.5. Freshman Owen Tauzin followed him running a time of 25:52.1 while Mason Haley clocked in at 26:15.8. John Walker McDonald scored for the Cajuns with a time of 26:29.4.

Russell, a freshman, paced the women with a time of 22:37.9 in 245th place. Fellow freshman Ella Segura followed her in 280th recording a time of 22:54.5. Right behind her was Haley Salsbury's time of 22:57.5. Brooke Spalitta (23:06.9) and Skylar Delgado (23:21.8) rounded out the scores for the Cajuns.

Victor Kibiego from UTEP was the men's individual champion with a time of 22:54.8, while Tulane took home the team championship with the Cajuns placing 36th. The women's event was won by Juliet Cherubet of Texas Tech in 19:20.7. Utah Valley claimed the team championship with the Cajuns finishing 38th.

Up next for the Cajuns is the Sun Belt Conference Championships in Foley, Alabama on October 28.
