The Cajun men finished seventh as a team while the women placed ninth
FOLEY, Alabama - Ella Segura and Peyton Chiasson crossed the finish line first for the Louisiana cross country team at the Sun Belt Conference Championships on Saturday, October 28 at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley, Alabama.

Segura continued her strong freshman season in which she finished among the top two Cajuns in the last three races. She finished Saturday in 30th at 18:54.10 but was the fifth fastest freshman on the course.Â

Finishing right behind her was Haley Salsbury in 31st at 19:01.10. Isabelle Russell followed her with a time of 19:08.30 to finish 36th. Caroline Spalitta clocked in at 19:33.40 for a 51st-place finish while Skylar Delgado rounded out the scorers with a time of 19:46.20 to finish 56th.

On the men's side, Chiasson paced the team in 24th with a time of 26:43.80. Owen Tauzin followed him in 31st with a time of 27:08.40. Mason Haley trailed him in 36th, clocking in at 27:21.10. Not far behind him was Louden Boudreaux whose 27:37.50 placed him 39th. John Walker McDonald rounded out the Cajuns in 41st with a time of 28:08.30.

The women finished ninth overall while the men placed seventh. Molly Jones of Coastal Carolina crossed the line in 16:37.90 to claim the women's individual championship while Arkansas State won the team event. South Alabama's Teagan Flanagan won the men's championship with a time of 23:57.20 while Appalachian State took home the team championship.
