Louisiana Set To Race at 2025 SBC Cross Country Championships

FOLEY, Ala. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Cross Country teams will look to close out the 2025 season on a strong note when they compete in the Sun Belt Conference Cross Country Championships on Friday (October 31) at the Graham Creek Nature Preserve.

The women's 5K race will begin at 8:32 a.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 9:15 a.m. Both races will air live on ESPN+ with Tyler Mayforth and Pat Greenwood on the call. Live results will be available through XPRESS TIMING, and admission is free and open to the public.

Louisiana returns All-Sun Belt Conference runners Isabelle Russell and Ella Segura, who finished 10th an 11th, respectively, in the 2024 meet. Henry Lyon, who was an All-American Athletic Conference runner last season at East Carolina, leads the men's side and enters the meet coming off a season-best time (24:06.2) at the Arturo Barrios Invitational.

The Ragin' Cajuns finished sixth in the women's event last season with the men's team placing seventh.

The women's field will feature all 13 Sun Belt programs – App State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, James Madison, Louisiana, ULM, Marshall, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, and Troy – competing for the conference crown.

On the men's side, nine schools that sponsor the sport – App State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana, ULM, Marshall, South Alabama, Texas State, and Troy – will take part in the 8K championship.

The 2025 meet represents the 41st Sun Belt Women's Cross Country Championship since the inaugural event in 1985 and the 48th edition of the men's championship dating back to 1978.
