Women's team finishes ahead of three SBC programs in 6K race
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Louisiana capped its 2025 cross country season Friday with a steady outing at the NCAA Division I South Central Regional at Agri Park, highlighted by a top-50 finish on the women's side and a promising 10K debut for the men.
Junior Ella Segura led the Ragin' Cajuns in the women's 6K, crossing in 21:54.6 to place 50th in a field of 174 runners. Louisiana placed 13th overall in the women's team standings with 361 points, finishing as the highest-ranked Sun Belt Conference program, with the men's team placing 22nd overall with 570.
Junior Isabelle Russell followed Segura, finishing 53rd in 21:59.7, while sophomore Chloé Crowell surged late to finish 72nd in 22:20.4. Senior Brooke Spalitta (97th, 22:42.1), sophomore Spencer Frierson (118th, 23:08.9) and junior Skylar Delgado (135th, 23:27.9) rounded out the Ragin' Cajuns scoring lineup.
On the men's side, sophomore Peyton Bourgeois led Louisiana, clocking a time of 32:58.9 to finish 104th in his first collegiate 10K event. Freshman Jackson Jarrett followed in 108th at 33:08.4, while senior John Walker McDonald posted a personal-best 33:40.3 to place 127th. Senior Mason Haley added a 34:08.9, and freshman Reed Boudreaux completed the Cajuns' scoring in 35:58.2 (158th).
In the women's team standings, Louisiana finished ahead of fellow Sun Belt programs Texas State (374), Arkansas State (436) and ULM (467). Texas A&M (71), LSU (86) and Tulane (108) secured the top three spots.
