Road Trip Continues As Louisiana Travels To Face Lamar

Ragin' Cajuns venture out of state for first time during five-match road swing
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team continues its five-match road trip on Thursday when it heads west to the Lone Star State to battle Lamar in a non-conference match at the Lamar Soccer Complex.

Louisiana (1-0-2) posted its second consecutive draw in its last match after a scoreless contest – the 11th in school history – last Sunday at Louisiana Tech. Libby Harper posted her third shutout in a Louisiana uniform as she faced five shots and recorded one save.

Sixteen players have attempted at least one of Louisiana's 41 shots during the first three matches with the Ragin' Cajuns ranked seventh nationally in corner kicks per game (9.33). The trio of Hailly Waterhouse (4 points), Ruthny Mathurin (3) and Jacie Crochet (2) lead Louisiana in scoring with Mathurin placing five of her seven shot attempts on frame.

Lamar (2-0-0) opened the season with a 3-0 win over Houston on Aug. 21 before a 5-1 win over Tarleton State last Sunday. Christine Kitaru has found the back of the net five times on seven shots through the first two matches for the Cardinals with Nicole Panis posting a 0.54 goals against average with 11 saves.
