Louisiana Hosts Southern In Final Soccer Exhibition

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team will host its final exhibition match prior to officially opening the 2022 season next week when it faces Southern University on Saturday at the Home Bank Track/Soccer Facility.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is free. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana, which will officially open the 2022 season on Thursday at home against FIU, recorded a 2-2 tie against I-10 rival McNeese in its exhibition opener on Wednesday. Alyssa Abbott scored both goals for the Ragin' Cajuns in the match with Hailly Waterhouse adding an assist.

The Ragin' Cajuns held a 9-5 advantage in shots taken against the Cowgirls with Libby Harper and Reese Keller splitting time in goal.

Southern, which finished 5-10-2 last season and is picked to finish sixth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, makes its 2022 debut against Louisiana before officially opening its season next Friday at Nicholls.
