Louisiana Defeats Jackson State in Soccer Friendly, 4-1

Ragin' Cajuns host Southern on Friday in third spring scrimmage

LAFAYETTE - Four players each scored goals and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Soccer team claimed a 4-1 victory over Jackson State in an exhibition match on Friday at Home Bank Track & Soccer Facility.

Hailey Waterhouse scored her third goal of the spring for Louisiana, which was playing its second 11-v-11 exhibition match under new head coach Chris McBride. Redshirt freshman Petra Buyck collected her first goal in a Ragin' Cajuns uniform while Carol Rodriguez and Gabi Placke each recorded their second goals of the spring. Hailey Hoffmann added a pair of assists for Louisiana.

Libby Harper earned the victory for Louisiana after playing the first half. Lauryn Starwood and Reese Keller handled goalkeeping duties in the second half.

Louisiana will close out its spring season on Friday (April 8) when it hosts Southern. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and admission is free.
