Daigle Set To Compete at NCAA Cross Country Championoships

First woman in school history to compete for national title after third-place finish at regionals

STILLWATER, Okla. – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns runner Sophie Daigle will compete for a national title on Saturday when she competes in the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Greiner Family Cross Country Course on the campus of Oklahoma State University.
 
The Women's 6K race will begin at 9:20 a.m. and will be seen nationally on ESPNU with live results available at RaginCajuns.com.
 
Daigle, the second Ragin' Cajuns individual runner and first woman to qualify for the finals in school history, clocked a personal-best time in the 6K at the NCAA South Central Regional last week to advance to her first national meet.
 
The senior posted a time of 20:22.2 to finish third overall set a personal-best after clocking a time of 20:59.3 on the same course nearly five weeks ago.
 
Daigle finished behind Arkansas' Isabel Van Camp and Gracie Morris of TCU in the field of 179 runners.
