Mathurin Repeats On All-Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Team

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns forward Ruthny Mathurin earned second-team honors as the 2022 Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer team was released by the league office on Monday.

Mathurin, a second-team All-SBC defender in 2021, led Louisiana in both goals scored (5) and points (13) during the 2022 season. Four of her five goals and 10 of 13 points came in SBC play with 18 of her 30 shots during the season were on goal.

The sophomore scored a pair of unassisted goals in a 3-1 win over Troy in Louisiana's home finale on Oct. 20 and was credited with a goal and assist in win at ULM. Mathurin dished out an assist against Texas State and added an equalizer goal at Georgia State.

Mathuin opened the season on Aug. 18 with a goal and assist in 2-1 win over Florida International and played a career-high 90 minutes in back-to-back matches against South Alabama and Coastal Carolina.
