Louisiana Track Back In Action at LSU's Battle on the Bayou

First of four meets in month of April for Ragin' Cajuns
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Track and Field team goes back to nearly full-squad action beginning on Saturday when it travels to Baton Rouge to compete in LSU's Battle on the Bayou at Bernie Moore Track Stadium.

Action begins with the women's discus at 9:30 a.m., with the meet concluding with the men's 4x400-meter relay at 3:35 p.m. Live results for the seven-team meet will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Louisiana will join host LSU and in-state programs Northwestern State, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Southern and Xavier-New Orleans in the event. LSU Athletics will allow fans to attend the meet (maximum of 2,800) and all the guidelines/protocols can be viewed here.

The meet is the first of four during the month of April for Louisiana, which returns to action after a solid showing at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays. The Ragin' Cajuns will compete in meets during the month of April at Alabama's Crimson Tide Invitational (April 8-10), LSU's Boots Garland Invitational (April 17) and the Leon Johnson NSU Invitational (April 24).

Multi-event athletes Chandler Mixon, Juliette Smith and freshman Ivana Cecchetti will each get a chance to compete in three events for the Ragin' Cajuns with Mixon scheduled for the men's 110-meter hurdles, pole vault and javelin. Smith will compete in the women's 100-meter hurdles, long jump and javelin while Cecchetti will compete in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump and long jump.

Kiana Foster, the No. 2-ranked sprinter among Sun Belt Conference athletes in the women's 200-meter dash, will look to improve her standing with Emoni Coleman (women's 800-meters) and Shonita Brome (women's 400-meter hurdles) ranked fifth in the SBC in their respective events.

Nathan Fergusson will look to build on his SBC top-ranked time (52.79) in the men's 400-meter hurdles for Louisiana while the tandem of Rylan Theyard and John Joseph are ranked second and third in the SBC in the men's triple jump.

Terroll Jolla, who will compete in a pair of events for Louisiana, enters the meet ranked third overall in the men's 100-meter dash (10.55) and Yves Cherubin is ranked fifth in the men's 110-meter hurdles (14.13).
