Louisiana Soccer to Host Nicholls on Thursday

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team returns to the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility on Thursday when it plays host to in-state foe Nicholls State.

Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. Live stats will be available at CajunStats.com.

Louisiana (9-7-1), which will travel to face Texas A&M on Saturday before wrapping up its Spring schedule on March 27 at Baylor, plays its first regular-season spring match since Feb. 28 when it faced Mississippi State.

Lizzie Mayfield (5 goals, 5 assists) and Karleen Bedre (2 goals, 4 assists) are Louisiana's top scorers with Hailey Hoffmann (3 goals), Mummert (2 goals, 2 assists) and Alyssa Abbott (2 goals) all entering the scoring column.

Nicholls (0-10-0), which had its season pushed back to the spring due to the global COVID-10 pandemic, allowed all four goals in the second of its 4-0 loss to visiting ULM on Monday. The Colonels, who are 0-6-0 in Southland Conference play, have also dropped non-conference contests to Southern Miss, Louisiana Tech and South Alabama,

The Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility will operate at a significantly reduced capacity for the 2020-21 season (unless state policy changes during the season). This will allow for fans and University students to be accommodated this season.

Should disruptions or modifications to the 2020-21 season occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Athletics will quickly communicate the adjustments through its social media channels and RaginCajuns.com. Additionally, the department will communicate any changes to specific entry and attendance protocols for home matches.

In the interest of public safety and following the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) Best Practices Guide, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Athletics Department is implementing a clear bag policy at all venues that host ticketed events effective with the 2020-21 competition season.
