Louisiana Golf Opens Play Sunday at Quail Valley Intercollegiate

VERO BEACH, Fla. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Men's Golf team returns to action on Sunday when it begins play in the 54-hole Quail Valley Intercollegiate at Quail Valley Golf Club.

The eighth annual event, hosted by No. 28-ranked Michigan State, will take place beginning Sunday at 7:30 a.m. CT with a 36-hole shotgun start before the final 18 holes on Monday. The 16-team field includes six schools ranked among the top-50 nationally by Golfstat – No. 10 South Florida, No. 11 Kansas, No. 24 Northwestern, No. 25 Indiana and No. 31 Kent State.

Also included in the field on the par-72, 7,460-yard course is Boston College, Jacksonville (Fla.), Kansas City, Maryland, Memphis, Miami (Ohio), Nebraska, Rutgers and Toledo.

Peter Hinnant, who has posted a 73.44 scoring average in nine rounds of play this fall, will lead Louisiana's five-man lineup. Joining Hinnant in the field includes Charlie Flynn (73.33), Jose Dibildox (73.17), Eli Ortego (73.22) and Hudson Dubinski (78.0).

Louisiana, which is averaging 292.67 as a team in its first nine rounds of the season, will be paired with Jacksonville, Maryland and Toledo in the opening round. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.
