Louisiana Athletics has teamed up with RoadRunnerApp.com to offer a new series on RaginCajuns.com in which student-athletes share details on how they've adjusted during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offer insight into their personal lives.

In this Q&A feature article, you will "Get to Kneaux" Ragin' Cajuns soccer midfielder Kobi McNutt. After transferring from UTEP prior to the 2018 season, the Kingwood, Texas native and future petroleum engineer has played in 30 career matches at Louisiana and will look to help the Ragin' Cajuns build off a successful 9-8-3 record.

What has become your daily routine during quarantine?
KM: "I wake up with some green tea and do my daily devotional. I then go and work out and do soccer training. Come home and do my summer internship online then I end my day with some yoga and meditation!"

What has Head Coach Key's message to your team been during this unprecedented time?
KM: "Coach Key has been telling us to keep building our castle during this time. Champions don't let off the gas and our program doesn't plan on letting up."

How have you and your teammates stuck together remotely during this challenging time period?
KM: "We've been doing zoom meetings and having fun quarantine quiz nights every week!"

An important question: what is your favorite food?
KM: "Crawfish!!!"

Take us back to when you decided to come to the University and become a Ragin' Cajun. What about the school helped you make that decision?
KM: "UL has such a unique culture and provides so many avenues for success. Our soccer program strives for excellence in everything we do, not just as athletes but as young woman and that's something that is very important to me. I want to build a foundation for myself after my soccer career and UL athletics has definitely paved a way for that success after collegiate athletics is over."

What is your earliest sports memory?
KM: "Breaking my collarbone during soccer practice when I was four years old!"

Growing up, your sports hero was who? And why?
KM: "Michael Jordan. His work ethic and leadership on and off the court is inspiring. He said "Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen." He lives his life challenging himself each and every day to be the best version of himself and I really strive to live by that."

What is your major, and what about it do you like most?
KM: "Petroleum engineering. I love being challenged every single day, and this degree definitely tests my knowledge and pushes me. I'm a very hands on, blue collar worker and this degree gives me the opportunity to work in the field on and oil rig while still apply my engineering knowledge."

What class have you enjoyed most at the University so far?
KM: "Drilling engineering! I'm striving to become a drilling engineer on an offshore rig and this class gave me all the tools I needed to be successful in that role."

What are your plans after your academic and athletic career at Louisiana is done?
KM: "I plan on working in the oil and gas industry on and off shore rig as a drilling engineer."

Next week's Q&A: Senior midfielder Ashley Newland
