Louisiana Soccer To Face Nicholls, LSU-E In Spring Matches

Matches first of four consecutive weekends for spring contests
LAFAYETTE – Coming off a nine-win season, which included the program's first-ever win at the Sun Belt Conference Championships, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team opens the second year of the Lance Key era on Saturday with a pair of spring matches at Moore Park.
Louisiana, which posted a 9-8-3 record in 2019, will open the day against Nicholls State in an 11:30 a.m. contest before facing LSU-Eunice at 1 p.m.
Seniors Una Einarsdottir and Julianne DeBlieux along with first-team All-Sun Belt Conference defender Gwen Mummert and LSWA Freshman of the Year Karleen Bedre are the top returners for Louisiana, which posted its first winning season since 2014 and logged a school-record eight shutouts.
The matches on Saturday are the first of four consecutive weekends the Ragin' Cajuns will compete on the pitch. Louisiana will travel to Baton Rouge to face LSU on March 14 and in-state opponents McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond on March 21 before wrapping up the spring slate March 28 at the Houston Baptist 7v7 Tournament.
