Louisiana Soccer Match 9 Preview: at Little Rock

LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Women's Soccer team gets away from Hurricane Delta this week as it heads to the state of Arkansas for a pair of matches beginning on Friday at Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference match at the Coleman Sports Complex.

With the southwest Louisiana coast expected to bear the brunt of a second major hurricane in six weeks, Louisiana (5-3, 2-2 SBC) moved its scheduled home matches against Little Rock and Central Arkansas. The Ragin' Cajuns will face Little Rock in the first of two meetings during the 2020 season before wrapping up the weekend on Sunday at UCA.

Louisiana has won its last three matches – all by shutout – marking the first time since 2004 that the Ragin' Cajuns have won three straight matches by shutout.

Lizzie Mayfield (3 goals), Karleen Bedre (2 goals) and Una Einarsdottir (2 goals) are the top scorers for Louisiana with freshman goalkeeper Lauryn Starwood posting a 0.26 goals against average since replacing the injured Jordan Higgins.

Should disruptions or modifications to the 2020 season occur due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Athletics will quickly communicate the adjustments through its social media channels and RaginCajuns.com. Additionally, the department will communicate any changes to specific entry and attendance protocols for home matches.
