Regular season play opens on Nov. 7 against Loyola (La.) at the Cajundome
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana will play its final exhibition game of the 2019-20 campaign on Friday, Nov. 1, when it hosts Spring Hill College at the Cajundome. Tipoff for the contest is slated for 6 p.m.
The Ragin' Cajuns have already hosted one exhibition contest this year, defeating Mississippi College, 73-65, on Monday, Oct. 28. Under head coach Garry Brodhead, Louisiana is 13-0 in exhibition contests.
Sophomore Andrea Cournoyer led the charge for the Ragin' Cajuns on Monday, leading the team with 19 points. She was joined in double figures by Diamond Morrison and Makayia Hallon, who contributed 15 points and 11 points, respectively.
Also providing a spark in the first tune-up was Kimberly Burton, who finished the night with seven points and a team-best eight rebounds.
Spring Hill College will be playing in its first game of the season when it travels to Lafayette. The Badgers wrapped up the 2018-19 campaign with a 12-16 overall record and 7-10 record in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) play.
Redshirt junior Tiffany Valentine returns after leading the team in scoring a season ago with 19.6 points per contest and ranking second on the team with 8.0 boards per contest. Elise Reilly (12.9) and Katie Krout (11.0) round out the Badgers' top-three scorers returning from a season ago.
Friday's matchup will be the first time the two programs have met since Nov. 10, 2014, when the Ragin' Cajuns claimed a 67-47 exhibition victory over the Badgers.
