@RaginCajunsSOC Closes Out Homestand Against Arkansas State

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team will close out its three-match homestand on Friday at 7 p.m. as the squad faces Sun Belt Conference foe Arkansas State at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility.

Admission to the contest is free and fans are encouraged to take part in Pups at the Pitch Night as well as Girl Scouts Night.

The Ragin' Cajuns (2-7-2, 1-2-0 SBC) are coming off of a 1-0 victory over ULM last weekend and are 2-1-2 at home this season. Sophomore Una Einarsdottir leads the squad with two goals on the years including a game-winning goal.

Pups at the Pitch

Fans who bring their pups to the game will be given a dog treat and a doggy bag upon entry. Fans who participate in Pups at the Pitch must have their dog on a leash the entire time and remain in the assigned seating area for the event. The owner is also responsible for cleaning up after the dog and must fill out a waiver before being allowed into the stadium.

Girl Scout Night

Scouts are encouraged to attend in uniform and have the opportunity to be ball kids and earn a special Ragin' Cajuns Soccer patch.

The Series

Louisiana holds an 11-8-0 edge in the all-time series with Arkansas State having won three of the last four meetings. The Ragin' Cajuns picked up a 2-1 overtime victory over the Red Wolves last season in Jonesboro, Ark. The Cajuns are 5-3-0 at home in the series against A-State.

Scouting Arkansas State

Arkansas State (5-2-2, 2-0-0 SBC) picked up wins in their first two conference matches of the year defeating ULM 4-0 and Georgia State 2-0 at home last weekend. The Red Wolves are led by Sarah Sodoma with three goals on the season, while Maggie Ertl has a team-best seven points with two goals and three assists.

The Ragin' Cajuns head on the road for a pair of Sun Belt matches starting with a 5 p.m. CT contest on Friday, Oct. 5 at Coastal Carolina. Following the matchup with the Chanticleers, Louisiana heads to Boone, N.C. on Oct. 7 for a 11 a.m. CT match against Appalachian State.
