@RaginCajunsSOC To Face Split Conference Weekend

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer team is set to host Little Rock on Friday at 5 p.m. at the Ragin' Cajuns Soccer/Track Facility before heading on the road to close out the weekend at Georgia Southern on Sunday.

Louisiana (3-9-2, 2-4-0 SBC) is scheduled to face the Eagles in a makeup of the contest from earlier this season that was canceled due to hurricane Florence at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday at Eagle Field.

The Ragin' Cajuns come into the weekend in a tie for sixth place in the Sun Belt Conference with six points. Sophomore Una Einarsdottir leads the team with two goals on the season, while senior Lexi Turner has two assists and a goal.

The Series

Louisiana holds an 11-5-2 all-time record against Little Rock including a 6-2-0 mark at home. The Ragin' Cajuns and Trojans played to a 1-all double-overtime draw a year ago in Little Rock.

The Cajuns own a 3-1-0 edge over Georgia Southern having won the last three contests in the series including a 3-2 victory over the Eagles at home a year ago.

Scouting Little Rock

Little Rock (8-3-2, 3-1-1 SBC) comes into the contest on a four-game unbeaten streak having defeated ULM 1-0 and South Alabama 2-1 last weekend. The Trojans sit in fourth place in the Sun Belt with 10 points through five matches.

Jaclyn Purvine leads the squad ranked second in the league with seven goals on the year. Arola Aparicio Gili ranks third in the Sun Belt with 11 points having posted four goals and three assists.

Scouting Georgia Southern

Georgia Southern (4-9-0, 2-4-0 SBC) has lost three straight contests after defeats to Troy 2-1 and Texas State 3-0 last weekend at home. The Eagles also have six points on the season in league play and will host Coastal Carolina on Friday before closing out their home slate on Sunday against the Cajuns.

Maddie Klintworth has a team-best eight points including three goals and two assists, while Frida Brattum is tied for the team lead with three goals.

Up Next

The Ragin' Cajuns close out the regular season with another split weekend heading to South Alabama on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. before closing out the week at home against Georgia State on Sunday at noon. The match against the Panthers will be senior day as Louisiana will honor its four seniors before the contest.
