Cajuns Set To Open SBC Play At Little Rock

Little Rock, Ark. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball team begins Sun Belt Conference play against Little Rock on Thursday at the Jack Stephens Center.

Louisiana (6-3), which is coming off an 80-72 win over Louisiana Tech on Dec. 22, is led in scoring by senior guard Jaylyn Gordon (19.2 ppg). Gordon leads the Sun Belt Conference in points per game, three-point field goals made per game (2.8), and minutes played per game (39.2).

Junior forward Simone Fields is fourth in the league in scoring (15.7 ppg). Junior Troi Swain, who was named the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA) Player of the Week, is averaging 9.1 points per game.
Freshman Jasmine Thomas (8.3 ppg), senior Gabby Alexander (6.4 ppg), junior Jodi Quinn (5.6 ppg) and junior Nekia Jones (5.3 ppg) have seen significant playing time for the Cajuns this season.

Little Rock (6-6) is coming off a 69-49 loss at LSU on Dec. 21. The Trojans are coached by Joe Foley, who is in his 14th season as head coach.

Kaitlyn Pratt (12.7 ppg) and Sharde' Collins (11.5 ppg) lead Little Rock in scoring. Ronjanae DeGray (7.0), Kyra Collier (6.9 ppg) and Monique Townson (6.3 ppg) have contributed for the Trojans.
