LAFAYETTE - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns soccer program earned the National College Soccer Association of America Award after posting a 3.23 team GPA for the 2015-16 school year, as announced by the NSCAA office.

This marks the fourth-consecutive year the Cajuns soccer program has earned the team honor. A total of 893 soccer teams (315 men, 578 women) earned the recognition for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2015-16 academic year. In order to qualify for the national academic award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year.

Since 2003, the Cajuns have recorded at least a 3.0 team GPA 12 times (2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016). This marks the tenth time the Cajuns have earned the honor under the watch of head coach Scot Wieland.
