LAFAYETTE, La. – For the second straight weekend, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team will host a Sun Belt Conference series as the Cajuns face Georgia Southern for the first time in program history this weekend at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

The series gets underway on Friday at 6 p.m. at the"Tigue". Game two is set for 6 p.m. on Saturday, while the two teams close out the three-game set on Sunday at noon.

All three contests can be heard live on News Talk 96.5 KPEL-FM with Jay Walker making the call. Saturday's game will be broadcast live on myKLAF-TV and simulcast on ESPN3.com. Don Allen will call the action while Kevin Cantrelle will providing color.

The Ragin' Cajuns (15-11, 7-4 Sun Belt) are coming into the series having dropped a mid-week contest to third-ranked LSU, 8-6. Louisiana has won three of its four conference series this year including the last two against Georgia State and Arkansas State.

Freshman left-hander Gunner Leger will make his second straight Friday start coming into the contest with a 3-1 record. Leger ranks seventh in the SBC with 32 strikeouts and has a 3.63 ERA in 39.2 innings.

Senior right-hander Greg Milhorn will take the bump on Saturday for his seventh start of the year boasting a 1-0 record with a 3.70 ERA. Freshman right-hander Evan Guillory closes out the weekend for Louisiana on the mound and will look to improve upon his 2-0 record.

The Cajuns are ranked second in the Sun Belt in hitting with a .280 average, while the squad's 3.70 ERA ranks third in the league.

Junior shortstop Blake Trahan continues to pace the team offensively hitting .380 with 10 doubles, a home run and 14 RBI. Trahan is currently on a career-best 17-game hit streak.

Junior second baseman Stefan Trosclair, the reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week, has his average up to .319 as he has at least one hit in each of his last nine games. Greg Davis leads the club in RBI with 20 as nine of the 15 Cajuns to see an at bat this season have posted double-digit RBI.

Georgia Southern (17-13, 7-5 Sun Belt) had the mid-week off following a series loss at Texas State. The Eagles claimed a 12-3 victory in the second game of the series against the Bobcats before falling in the finale 11-4.

Chase Griffin leads Georgia Southern with a .319 average having recorded seven doubles, a triple and three home runs. Aaron Mizell has a team-best eight doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 25 RBI.

The Eagles are slated to start left-hander Evan Challenger on Friday. Challenger is making his seventh start and is 2-0 with a 1.02 ERA in 35.1 innings. Right-hander Tripp Sheppard (2-2, 3.03 ERA) will make the start on Saturday, while left-hander Connor Simmons (1-1, 2.03 ERA) will close out the series on the mound for Georgia Southern.

Following the series with the Eagles, the Cajuns continue their four-game home stand on Tuesday at 6 p.m. against No. 20 Houston in the first of five games scheduled for the week.
