LAFAYETTE, La. – Coming off of a series loss at UTSA to open the 2015 season, the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns baseball team will look to rebound as they face in-state foe Northwestern State in a mid-week contest at Brown-Stroud Field in Natchitoches, La. at 4 p.m.

The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m., but was moved up do the low temperatures forecasted for Wednesday evening.

Freshman left-hander Gunner Leger will make his first career start for the Ragin' Cajuns (1-2) in the contest. Leger made an appearance in relief at UTSA seeing one inning of work giving up one run on one hit with a walk and a strikeout.

Northwestern State (1-3) will counter with sophomore left-hander Austin Tanner. Tanner threw one scoreless inning in relief at Troy this past weekend. A native of Prairieville, La., Tanner went 2-1 with a 4.28 ERA in 10 starts a year ago. Tanner made the start against the Cajuns in the first game last year giving up three runs on five hits in 3.0 innings.

Senior Greg Davis led the way for the Cajuns offensively over the weekend with a team-best six hits, while Joe Robbins notched a series-high four RBI. As a team, the Ragin' Cajuns hit .304 against the Roadrunners posting 34 hits including five doubles, two triples and three home runs.

Louisiana went 19-1 against in-state opponents in 2014 including two victories over the Demons. The Ragin' Cajuns hold an 81-48 all-time series edge over the Demons having won 13 of the last 17 meetings including the last five in a row.
