Cajuns Earn ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

Louisiana recognized among 800 high school, collegiate baseball programs earning cumulative 3.0 team GPA or higher
LAFAYETTE – Louisiana Baseball was recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association as one of more than 800 high school and collegiate programs nationwide to earn the 2025-26 ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award, presented by Sports Attack.
The award recognizes ABCA member programs that recorded a cumulative team grade-point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
Louisiana was among nearly 500 collegiate programs honored, joining more than 320 high school programs that received the annual recognition. During the 2025-26 academic year, Louisiana posted a cumulative team GPA of 3.18 with 29 players earning a 3.0 or above GPA.
To qualify for the award, programs were required to:
• Be a high school or collegiate baseball program.
• Have a head coach who is a current ABCA member.
• Record a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.
The ABCA has recognized excellence on and off the field for decades through its awards programs. The organization sponsors the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams, the nation's oldest college baseball All-America team dating to 1949, along with the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams, ABCA/ATEC Regional and National Coach of the Year awards, the ABCA Hall of Fame and the Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
