Cajuns Golf Wraps Up Fall Slate At The Intercollegiate at The Grove

MUFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns golf team is set to wrap up the fall slate as the squad tees off starting Sunday at The Intercollegiate at The Grove hosted at the par-72, 7,368-yard Grove Golf Course.
Play gets underway at 9 a.m. on all three days of competition with teams teeing off of holes one and ten. The final round is slated for Tuesday.
"The guys are really excited to get back on the course and wrap up the fall with a strong showing," head coach Theo Sliman said. "We need to get off to a good start. Our main issue this fall has been that we have gotten off to some slow starts. If we can get off to a good start and put together three good rounds, I am confident that this team is talented enough to come away with a good result. It's going to take a complete team effort to do so."
Host Middle Tennessee, Abilene Christian, Cincinnati, College of Charleston, Kentucky, Lipscomb, Louisiana, Southern Miss, Troy, Wisconsin, WKU and Xavier make up the 12-team field.
The Ragin' Cajuns will go with the lineup of Haraldur Magnus, Fernando Cruz Valle, Ragnar Gardarsson, Andres Navarrete and Triston Elston for the third straight tournament. Magnus has posted a top 10 finish in all four events this fall including top 5 performances in the last three. The senior leads the Sun Belt with a 70.33 scoring average through 12 rounds.
Cruz Valle ranks second on the squad with a 72.08 average and has posted a top 25 finish in all four tournaments this season including two top 10s.
Louisiana is paired with the College of Charleston and Southern Miss for the first round on Sunday. Live scoring for the event is available on GolfStat.com.
