PLAY BALL
Louisiana hosts Tulane at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field for the first time since March 2003 when the Green Wave visits on Tuesday, April 9 for a 6 p.m. contest. It's the first of two midweek games for the Cajuns as the next night the team is in Natchitoches to complete a season series with Northwestern State at 6:30 p.m. at Brown-Stroud Field.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
The Ragin' Cajuns sport an 18-3 record at “The Tigue” in 2013 and have won 11 of the last 12 games on their home turf.

PILING UP THE HITS
Louisiana posted double figure hits each game of the Troy series and finished with 40 hits over three games (13.3 hits per game). The Cajuns have reached double figures in five straight games and seven of the last eight.

TAKING THE LEAD
The Cajuns hit .351 in the Troy series while the Trojans hit .302. UL exited the series taking the Sun Belt Conference lead in batting average over the Trojans at .311 to .309.

HICKS CAN STAND ALONE
Matt Hicks' next save will make him the Ragin' Cajuns' all-time leader. His 12 career saves place him in a three-way tie with Kraig Schambough who set the standard from 2002-05 and Justin Robichaux who equaled the mark from 2007-10.

SECRET WEAPON
Seth Harrison's emergence on the mound has quickly made him a dual threat for the Cajuns. He earned the save in three straight games after his pitching debut at WKU and on Saturday belted a grand slam and posted six RBI in the series clincher over Troy

LAST TIME VS. TULANE AT “THE TIGUE”
The Cajuns claimed a 9-8 win on March 26, 2003 on a Ryan Core walk-off home run.

THE TULANE SERIES (Louisiana leads 43-41)
The Cajuns hold a 43-41 lead, overall. Tulane leads 15-12 in the Tony Robichaux era. Tulane has had the most recent success, claiming six of the last eight meetings. The previous six meetings took place in New Orleans. Prior to a two-year break from 2005-06, the two programs had met each season from 1983-2004.

BASES NOTED
The Cajuns are 5-1 in midweek games, having won four straight entering the Tulane contest...UL won the season's first meeting with Northwestern State 12-3 on Feb. 20 at “The Tigue”...The Cajuns sent 13 batters to the plate in producing a nine-run fourth inning that delivered the knockout punch...Seth Harrison made it 3-for-3 in save situations pitching the final three innings to post the save in the Troy opener...Austin Robichaux tossed the first nine inning complete game of his career on Saturday, holding the Trojans to five hits as the Cajuns collected the series victory...Tyler Girouard extended his hitting streak to 14 games on Friday, but saw the streak end on Saturday after going 0-for-4…Girouard's 14-game streak was the longest by a Cajun since Mike Petello produced a similar streak in 2011... Ryan Leonards' average continues to climb as his team-best .571 average during the Troy series raised his season batting average to .395…Leonards is hitting .565 (13-of-23) since the Saturday doubleheader at WKU...Seth Harrison needs to hit safely in the next two games to reach a double digit hit streak for the second time this season (had 12 game streak Feb. 22-March 19)... After ranking near the bottom in most offensive categories in 2012, the Cajuns have climbed the ladder in 2013 and after eight weeks of play Louisiana ranks Top 3 in the Sun Belt Conference in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, triples, home runs and total bases...Dex Kjerstad, who homered twice on Sunday, has posted multiple hits in nine of the last 12 games.
