Soccer Hosts North Texas To Open Conference Slate

LAFAYETTE, La. – The Ragin' Cajuns soccer team returns to the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility on Friday at 7 p.m. as the Cajuns open Sun Belt Conference play against North Texas.
UL (5-4-0, 0-0-0 SBC) is coming off of a 2-0 road victory over Garner-Webb to close out the Catamount Classic last Sunday. The Cajuns are 3-1 at home on the season having won the last two decisions at the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
Head coach Scot Wieland is just one triumph shy of reaching the 50-win plateau at the helm of the Cajuns.
Shelby Isley and Erin Lynn each lead the team with four goals on the year, while Isley has a team-best 10 points. Louisiana ranks third in the SBC in goals (20), assists (15) and points (55).
The Mean Green (5-3-1, 0-0-0 SBC) come into the contest having dropped their last three matches including a 1-0 decision to TCU on Sunday.
Kelsey Hodges paces North Texas with six goals including one game-winner. NT leads the SBC with a 0.92 goals against average.
After the facing the Mean Green on Friday, the Cajuns head to Natchitoches, La. on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the squads last non-conference contest of the season.
