Ragin' Cajuns Open Cross Country Season at Texas A&M Invitational

Louisiana ranked No. 14 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region women's poll
LAFAYETTE – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Cross Country team officially opens its 2026 schedule on Friday when it travels to College Station, Texas to compete in the Texas A&M Invitational at the Watts Cross Country Course.

The men's 8K race will begin at 7:40 a.m., followed by the women's 5K event at 8:15. Live results will be available at RaginCajuns.com.

Louisiana makes the first of three trips this season to the Watts Course, where it will also compete in the Arturo Barrios Invitational on October 16 and the NCAA South Central Regional meet on November 13.

The 15-team field includes Louisiana and host Texas A&M, along with Baylor, Blinn College, Houston, Lamar, Our Lady of the Lake, Prairie View, Sam Houston, SMU, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas, UT Dallas and UT Tyler.

Louisiana returns four All-Sun Belt Conference performers from a season ago, led by first-team selections Isabelle Russell and Ella Segura. Third-team All-SBC runner Chloe Crowell also returns to the women's lineup.

On the men's side, 2025 third-team All-SBC performer Matthew Maynard leads a group of returning runners that also includes Jackson Jarrett, Mason Haley and Peyton Bourgeois.

The Louisiana women enter the season ranked No. 14 in the USTFCCCA South Central Region preseason poll. The Ragin' Cajuns also added Kentucky transfer Brooke Berger and Georgia Southern transfer Elizabeth Stamey to the roster.

Louisiana will compete in three meets before the Sun Belt Conference Championships, scheduled for Oct. 30 in Foley, Alabama. Following Friday's Texas A&M Invitational, the Ragin' Cajuns will compete at the McNeese Cowboy Stampede on Sept. 26 before returning to Texas A&M for the Arturo Barrios Invitational on Oct. 16.
